Wupperputz

Once a year—in mid-March—the City of Wuppertal (Department of Environmental Protection) calls on the public to participate in a community “Wupper Cleanup,” in which various neighborhood associations and other organizations also take part. ESW, AWG, and the Wupper Association provide tools, trash bags, access points, and trash removal.

In Arrenberg, too, people are hard at work cleaning up from several collection points, because for us it’s a neighborhood initiative. Afterward, neighbors and the association usually host a cheerful “rubber-boot barbecue” with drinks, salads, and sausages.
