Arrenberg by Bike

Pedaling Together for a Sustainable Neighborhood

Cycling is freedom. It’s healthy, climate-friendly, and brings people together. A vibrant cycling culture is thriving in Arrenberg—under the motto: Cycling Arrenberg.

Whether it’s for work, shopping, or a trip to the countryside: When you ride a bike, you’re not just getting yourself moving—you’re making a difference in the neighborhood, too. And every ride counts.

We’re neighbors who are working together to make our city a better place to live—through events, campaigns, and regular get-togethers centered around cycling. Join us—you, too, are part of the movement!

Our Activities

Pump My Bike

Repair, chat, ride—every first Friday of the month at 3 p.m. at the Arrenbergstatt. Afterward, we’ll head to Critical Mass—riding together from the repair station out onto the street.

Critical Mass Feeder Route

Be loud without making a sound. Meeting place: Every first Friday of the month, 6:30 p.m., CinemaxX on Kluse. We’ll bike together from Arrenberg to the Wuppertal Critical Mass. A powerful statement in support of safe, fair, and sustainable mobility in our city.

Group Outings – Spontaneous Trips to the Countryside

We regularly organize tours—to the Nordbahntrasse, out into nature, or just to an ice cream shop. For all ages and fitness levels. You can find the upcoming dates here or on social media.

City Cycling – Every Kilometer Counts

We’re participating in the annual City Cycling event as part of the Radelender Arrenberg team. Even cycling just 10 km instead of driving saves about 2 kg of CO₂—a small trip with a big impact.

Why all this?

For the climate. About 40% of all car trips are shorter than 5 km—ideal for biking. Switching to a bike reduces emissions, noise, space usage, and costs. This is how we can all make a tangible contribution to climate protection.

For Wuppertal as a cycling city. The city of Wuppertal is on its way to becoming more bike-friendly—with more bike lanes, safer infrastructure, and initiatives like the Bicycle Traffic Plan.
The Arrenberg neighborhood is leading the way—through its own initiative and a strong sense of community.

Join us!

“Radelnder Arrenberg” is open to everyone—whether you’re a daily cyclist, a beginner, or a hobbyist.
