Künstliche Intelligenz, kurz KI, begegnet uns immer häufiger: auf dem Smartphone, beim Einkaufen, bei der Suche im Internet oder beim Schreiben von Texten. Doch was steckt eigentlich dahinter und wie können wir KI selbst nutzen?
Im Digi-Club werden wir das gemeinsam ausprobieren: Wir lassen uns zum Beispiel einen schwierigen Text verständlich erklären, sammeln Ideen für ein Rezept, formulieren eine Nachricht, schreiben einen Song oder planen einen Ausflug. Ihr erfahrt dabei, was ein „Prompt“ ist und was dabei zu beachten ist.
Natürlich sprechen wir auch darüber, worauf ihr achten solltet: Welche persönlichen Daten gehören nicht in eine KI? Können die Antworten falsch sein? Und wie erkennt man Bilder, Nachrichten oder Informationen, die möglicherweise mit KI erstellt wurden?

On June 8, a special Digi-Club event took place at the PIKSL Lab in Wuppertal, hosted in collaboration with the police. Chief Detective Michael Schroer gave an informative guest lecture specifically for seniors at the Hofaue location. The 90-minute session focused on the dangers lurking in the digital world. Using real-life stories from police files, the experienced officer vividly illustrated to the approximately 40 guests how cunning scammers operate—and he offered tips on how they can protect themselves.
For the PIKSL team, this was a valuable experience: “It was overwhelming to see how many people found their way to us and showed just how great their need for help with everyday digital life is!” says lab director Eli Bracht, who, together with the PIKSL team, had to keep bringing in more chairs so everyone could sit down. Many of the visitors were at the PIKSL lab for the first time and learned about the wide range of services offered. They showed great interest in the counseling sessions in the open lab, in courses, and in participating in the monthly Digi-Club at Arrenberg, which is also specifically designed for seniors to guide them through the digital world.
“We were very pleased with the great interest, the positive atmosphere, and the visit from the expert. Now everyone is a little wiser when it comes to scammers. And we’re sure we’ll see some of the guests again,” said Eli Bracht.

Online bestellen ist bequem: Mit wenigen Klicks kommen Kleidung, Technik oder Lebensmittel direkt nach Hause. Doch wie findet man ein gutes Angebot und woran erkennt man einen seriösen Online-Shop?
Im nächsten Digi-Club schauen wir uns am Beispiel von Amazon an, wie eine Bestellung abläuft – von der Produktsuche über den Warenkorb bis zur Lieferung. Wir zeigen euch außerdem, wie ihr Preise vergleichen und zusätzliche Kosten wie Versandgebühren erkennen könnt.
Auch die verschiedenen Bezahlmöglichkeiten nehmen wir genauer unter die Lupe. Was sind die Vor- und Nachteile von PayPal, Kauf auf Rechnung, Lastschrift und Kreditkarte? Und wie könnt ihr eure Daten schützen und betrügerische Angebote erkennen? Natürlich bleibt auch genügend Zeit für eure Fragen.

Jaaa, treibt auch die Unsicheren in den Onlinekauf.
Ist ja soviel umweltfreundlicher als der Kauf in den aussterbenden Innenstädten. Dort treiben sich mittlerweile eh fast keine Deutschen mehr Rum.

In cooperation with the University of Wuppertal, PIKSL invites you to “Golden Memories” at Aufbruch—a game against forgetting. Looking at photos brings back memories—and at the Digi-Club, we’ll show you how to turn them into a digital experience. Together, we’ll look at old photographs from Wuppertal, upload them to a tablet—and then play around a bit with them in an app developed specifically for this purpose and strike up a conversation. Tablets will be provided.
We’ll meet at 10 a.m. in the large hall at the neighborhood office
No fees. Donations are welcome.
