The Wupper Oil Connection

Olive Oil Campaign – In Solidarity. Sustainable. Fair.

MAZI means “together”—ordering Greek olive oil together and giving small farmers a future.

We bring unadulterated, sustainably produced extra-virgin olive oil from Daras (Messinia) to Wuppertal, made under fair working conditions and with fair wages. Together with the cooperative “Mazi Oli” (Athens), founded specifically for this purpose, and with the support of the German cooperative “Solidari Trade” (Berlin), we are building a production and distribution network that ensures high-quality products, fair prices for small farmers, and planning security.

The Koroneiki olive variety is one of the best olive varieties. It is traditionally grown with little or no use of pesticides, cold-pressed, and gently processed. Its high polyphenol content makes it particularly beneficial to health and gives it a long shelf life. According to the producer, the oil’s acidity is 0.22 percent, which classifies it as extra virgin (according to EU regulations, extra virgin olive oil must have an acidity of less than 0.8%). The pressing temperature is 26–27 degrees Celsius, which qualifies as cold-pressing.

Group orders are placed online; the olive oil is not delivered to your home address but must be picked up by you.
