Boules at Gutenbergplatz

Boule is cool, sociable, and fun. It can bring the neighbors in Arrenberg together.

Gutenbergplatz, with its open space along the Wupper River, is a great place to play boules. The old trees, the babbling Wupper, the suspension railway clattering by, and the multicultural, bustling playground provide a special backdrop for a relaxed game after work.

Boule isn’t complicated: all you need are three iron balls per player and *) a small wooden target ball, called a “Schweinchen.” Despite (or because of?) this simplicity, Boule is very varied, because every game plays out differently and never gets boring.

Boule is also a great opportunity to make new friends in the neighborhood, since it’s easy to strike up a conversation while playing.
